The journey started last night then. At the moment I'm in the plane to Chennai. The journey is still going as planed.
A couple of things I notified till now: during the landing in mumbai I saw a few massive slumps. To see it with your own eyes makes it a lot different compared to when you see it on the telly. After I got of the plane the India heat smashed me in the face! It was warm but not super hot. Once walked in the airport I noticed that there is a lot of employees walking around on the airport. Not sure what they where doing, but a lot of them where just hanging around and looking outside. There was also a lot of military around on the airport ground. This was mainly due to the slumps around the airport i suppose. But basically at every corner there where employees standing and helping. All very convenient. During my arrival in Mumbai I also met a women who just came from London because the paycheck overthere was not good enough. Now she found a job in HongKong. That shows a bit what kind of globetrotters Indians are.
As I just took off from Mumbai, I could very well see that the whole city is in a massive smog! This also explains the pressing warmth on the floor. Because now i am crossing India from Mumbai to Chennai, the only thing i can see is clouds. Thick clouds as well i think due to the turbulence that we have when we go through them.
The planes are actually very good and comfortable. I am flying with Jet Airways, what is an Indian Company. On the way to Mumbai I had a nice dinner and in the morning a nice breakfast. During the trip they walked around with a trolley where you basically could ask for anything. So i took some juice and before I wanted to go to sleep an nightcap in the form of a wisky. At the airport I bought a chicken tikka sandwich which I enjoyed a lot. And also in this plane they are serving drinks and food. I actually like the food very much. The food is most of the time a bit spicy, which is what i have learned eating over the last year (due to all the curry's)
At the airport in Chennai will be a delegation waiting for me with four people. That will be the mum of Liny and three cousins. I will arrive in Chennai around 5pm local time and Liny should be there around 11pm. It all depends on how I feel whether I will hang around there.
I am very curious about the temperature in Chennai, because that is one hour and 45 minutes closer to the equator in a airplane.
Keep you posted!
