Day three was a very busy day, after i got in at 12 the day before i needed to get up at 8:30 AM. We had to leave at 9:00 AM as we had a driver with a car.
which is something very common in India due to the traffic. Most people dont drive their cars by themselves. We went off to Liny’s University on a two hour drive “Hindustan College of Engineering” on Old Mahabalipuram road also know as Express IT highway. On the way we went through little villages where cows are laying and walking around motorways. These cows are dedicated to the local temples so they are allowed to be around wherever they want and noone questions them or even tries to steal them ;-).
on the way to the university, this is what i saw
Close traffic in Chennai
Once at university, we came out of the car which had A/C into the normal chennai weather. This day was warmer than the days before due to the high humidity. At the university, on my way to the toilet i saw all the guys sweating in the class, i felt a bit sorry for them but they must be used to it. After saying some Hi’s to Liny’s teachers and then she just collected her degree certificate. We walked around the campus a bit, this is what we saw ;-)

After the university, Liny had some cultural stuff for me planned. We went to Mallapuram also known as mahabalipuram, which is a beach with all kinds of temples and sculptures which are thousands of years old. At the place there is also a market , where i bought some souvenirs for some people. From this point i bombarded Liny as my personal photographer ;-). So she took some pictures of me at the temples, which is also my first proof that i was actually here.
Then we had lunch, and i had a squid curry and rice.
on the way to the crocodile bank, we saw some men making sculptures.
Then we went to the Crocodile bank
And from the movie last night, I saw a temple and it turned out that the temple was in chennai. So we went there, the temple is called “Kapaleeshwara Temple” which is of the Lord Shiva. We saw some interesting things and that is not only the temple.
And then we went home to take some rest as we had more plans for the night ;-)
“Someone” arranged a place which had good references from a friend, so we went without knowing what it was ;-)
Once there, it turned out that it was a proper five star restaurant/ hotel. If you compare the prices in a normal restaurant you pay around Rs. 150 for the main course and we paid Rs. 950 here for a buffet. So it was all quite expensive ( 12 pounds) but it was all worth it. The food was amazing.
There is only a picture of the desserts because the rest was already finished before we thought of taking pictures. In the pictures you see also 2 of liny’s good friends :-).
Thats it for the day and dont forget this all has been done in a single day ;-).
